Aug 29, 2020 · After installation server was started and... I was extremely surprised, that this SSD was recognized as 2 disks 3.2TB each! In BIOS & Windows both! But not 6.4TB wholly as expected. I had contacted Intel Support Team - and they had answered me, that this SSD was developed with TWO disks & TWO controllers inside!

- I think the reason why the M.2 SSD is not detected is because in some models the storage is set to RAID by defult and I think AHCI the BIOS will recognise the SSD, but we are yet to find this. Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
Aug 12, 2020 · Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup. Go to Advanced > Devices > SATA (or Advanced > Storage). See if the drive is detected and identified on the SATA Port or the M.2 Port. Press F10 to exit BIOS. If it's not there after completing the above steps, the drive may be defective. Check Boot Order in BIOS. Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.

Apr 04, 2017 · This resulted in a broken SSD drive, which actually died a week later (not detected by any system or adapter). The laptop also had another SSD msata drive installed which was ok and I could see the data on it when booting into linux from pendrive.

First off, there could be an option like 'USB 3.0 Boot' or 'USB 3.0 Legacy Boot' in your BIOS/UEFI settings. Check for something like that. Barring that, the following could or could not be applicable to your machine: If it boots in USB 2.0 but not 3.0, it could just be that the 3.0 ports are being hosted via a chip that the BIOS isn't aware of.

I often use this when backing up a hard drive, or wiping and installing an image, etc. At any rate, when I plug this into my laptop, the drive doesn't show up in my computer, disk manager, or device manager.

- Aug 29, 2012 · Try adding just one drive, see if it's properly detected. Check them all this way. If no drive works this way, try at least one of the drives on another pc if you can (to check if the drives are actually ok) If the drives are ok and the board still doesn't see them then you probably need to RMA the board.
